Deputy Prime minister hold meeting for the implementation of Vesak Day

Last March 28, H.E Suvaj Lippatawallop, deputy prime minister of Thailand and chairman of the organising committee for the International Day of Vesak, called a meeting at Government House to discuss preparations for this coming Day of Vesak and for welcoming the distinguished guests and delegations who are coming from every corner of the world. Many committee members and supporters also participated in the meeting.

This year International Day of Vesak is being celebrated at the three main sites of Buddhamonthon, Sanam Luang and the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok. In addition, the Supreme Sangha Council of Thailand has announced nationwide celebration of the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty the King.

More than 2,500 people from 48 countries have expressed their wish to participate in this celebration. National delegations, scholars and Buddhist leaders will be taking part in the Conference.
