The deputy prime minister gave a speech thanking religious leaders in the nation for attending the International Buddhist Convention on the upcoming occasion of International Visaka Puja Day on May 12.
Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop (ÊØÇѨ¹ì ÅÔ»µ¾ÑÅÅÀ), deputy prime minister, delivered a speech before more than 1500 religious leaders from over 45 nations at the International Buddisht Convention on. Mr. Suwat was acting on his role as caretaker for the event, an assignment handed down directly from Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Mr. Suwat said that he personally felt glad to be hosting the event and hopes that it will bring peace to the world.
The deputy prime minister hoped that the teachings of Buddha can be spread all over the world.
