Biography :

She is Buddhist nun and Director of Sathira Dhammasthan, is now seen by many as a peace messenger around the world. Her remarkable teachings and humanitarian efforts are helping to break the cycle of violence in communities.

For 18 years she has been running several programs, starting with the Sai Samphan House for women who have suffered from domestic violence and unmarried pregnancy. Other programs include a kindergarten for children, including Sai Samphan House children, programs for pregnant mothers, including those in prison, plus a prison visitation program for male prisoners who have committed violent crimes against women and children. She is transforming the lives of abused women and children as she gently leads them from a life of pain and suffering, to one of love, compassion and hope.

She is a Co-Chair for the Global Peace Initiative of Women, an organization committed to engaging in inter-faith dialogue as a means of creating world peace and dedicated to creating both inner and outer peace and harmony in "hot-spots" around the world.

As a message of motherhood she works to support youth around the world as a co-worker with the Global Peace Initiative of Women and the UNDP, preparing for the United Nations Youth Summit in 2005.

As a recognition that people still need entertainment as a fifth element, the Spiritual Entertainment Company has been established to work for humanity through all kinds of media, such as the website, magazine, radio and television shows, art and music.

In response to the suffering, both spiritually and economically, faced be the Tsunami victims, in the southern areas, Mae Chee Sansanee has set up a fund called A Gift of Wisdom, which will be dedicated to help not only the victims of this tsunami, but also the victims of any future disaster.
